CTV’s Biggest Moments for H2: The Essential Dates Advertisers Need to Know

CTV Is Becoming the Default

We’re halfway through 2026, and the story of streaming has long moved past the cord-cutting transition. Viewers have now fully integrated streaming into their lives. In 2026, advertisers have access to 15% more of the US population through CTV compared to linear TV (eMarketer).

Live events are the last reliable mass-attention vehicle and offer huge viewership spikes where attention and engagement concentrate. Being prepared for these events is key for advertisers wanting to make the most of their CTV investment, so we’re taking you through all the big ones you need to know for H2.

The Moments That Will Define H2

World Cup Knockouts & Final (July, Final on Jul 19): For the first time since 1994, the men’s World Cup is on home soil, with matches across the US, Mexico, and Canada building to the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The audience is younger, deeply multicultural, and disproportionately streaming-first, exactly the viewers linear can’t reliably deliver. This is a rare chance to reach bilingual and Hispanic households and younger cord-cutters at the same time, at a scale nothing else this year matches.

NFL Kickoff (Sept 10): The broadest mass-reach vehicle in American media. Nothing else cuts across every age, region, and demographic the way the NFL does, and it remains true appointment viewing week after week through January. And every Thursday night, the league’s primetime game streams exclusively on Prime Video, putting a weekly NFL audience natively on CTV all season long. If your goal is near-universal reach with engaged attention, the NFL season is the backbone of any H2 plan, and kickoff is where it starts.

MLB Playoffs to World Series (Sept 29 to Oct 31): The postseason builds from the Wild Card round through the League Championship Series into the World Series (Oct 23 to 31). The audience starts regionally concentrated, then peaks nationally. It skews older, but it’s among the most deeply engaged and loyal audiences in sports. It’s October’s marquee event and a month-long runway of high-attention inventory.

NFL Thanksgiving (Nov 26): Thanksgiving is one of the highest-viewership days on the entire calendar, and a rare multi-generational co-viewing moment with families gathered around a single screen. Last year’s Thanksgiving Day games saw streaming viewership increase by 58% (NFL). If you want maximum household reach concentrated into one day, this is it.

NFL Christmas Games (Dec 25): The NFL’s streaming-first holiday tentpole, a Netflix-exclusive doubleheader. It reaches the cord-cut, streaming-native audience directly on a CTV platform, and Netflix’s ad tier makes the inventory newly accessible. Holiday co-viewing and a pure CTV reach play in one.

Knowing the Calendar Isn’t the Advantage

While being prepared for the events on this calendar is important for advertisers, the real edge isn’t knowing when the moments are. It’s reaching the real, verified people inside those audiences, and proving what your spend actually did.

That’s where Bridge is built differently. Instead of modeled, probabilistic guesses about who’s watching, we identify and reach real people by name through People Match™, deterministic, person-level data, not inference. We build custom audiences tuned to the moment you’re buying into, keep it all compliant at scale with Data Safe™, and close the loop with deterministic attribution that ties impressions back to who actually bought, visited, or booked.

The moments will draw the crowds. Whether you reach the right people in them, and know it worked, is the part you control. Let’s talk about your H2 plan.
